There are few things more nerve wracking than a crying baby, particularly when nothing you do seems to console him.
But, how do you know when your baby?s symptoms have are just crying and when he has colic?
And, just what is colic, anyway?
No one knows exactly what causes colic, though many old wives tales abound. Lots of older women will tell you that it is caused by parental inexperience, but colic does not occur more often in first children than in subsequent children, so they One thing that seems clear is that most babies who are experiencing colic have a stomach ache.
Many are gassy, though a baby won?t cry so inconsolably every time he has gas, so it is clearly gas plus something, though just what is not clear.
Though we don?t know what colic really is, it is hard to miss when your child is experiencing it.
The inconsolable crying usually begins in the late afternoon or early evening and often lasts until the baby finally falls asleep for the night, exhausted. Colic typically begins between two and three weeks of age, and is over its worst by twelve to sixteen weeks, though there are babies who start later and end later.
My daughter started at twelve weeks, but thankfully her bout of colic was over in two weeks. A colicky baby will typically draw his knees up to his chest, clench his fists and scream.
He may act like he wants the breast or bottle, but reject it as soon as you it?s in his mouth.
You will get the sense that your child is frantic, and needs something very badly, but doesn?t know what.
If you believe your baby has colic, it is still wise to take him to a doctor.
There is no cure for colic, but you should rule out other causes, such as an allergy to formula or some other gastric disorder.
Once your doctor has proclaimed the baby healthy, you can chalk it up to colic.
Once you know that your baby has colic, though there is no cure, there are some remedies you can try.
Simethicone drops, which are available over the counter as a gas medication for babies, helps in some cases.
In addition, there are numerous tricks you can try such as taking a drive in the car or running the vacuum cleaner that will work for some babies some of the time.
But, overall, colic is just a waiting game.
Keep the baby (and yourself) as calm as possible and look forward to the day when it will be over.

Three Excellent Ways To Turbo Charge Your Sales Presentations
by: Kyle Varner
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I have helped many salesmen go from average to excellent. Sales is all about the subconscious mind. When I was in high school, I sold Kirby vacuum cleaners door to door, and I noticed something very interesting: everyone had the same basic sales presentation, and yet some of us (like me!) were making excellent money, and others were making next to nothing. What is the difference?
The Devil is in the Details
The details of our sales presentations were the only things that differed?and sometimes those details are minute?even undetectable. They might occur on the subconscious level or the salesman, or they might be things that the salesman consciously does in order to influence the subconscious mind of their prospective client. The point is that, if you have a proven sales presentation, the difference between being excellent and being...

How to Cope with Colic
by: Monica Faircloth
When my oldest daughter was born, I walked the floor night and day, rocking and swaddling, singing and even crying...anything to make my new little miracle stop her endless crying. Well, everyone told me she just had colic and that it would pass. And, alas, pass it did, however I wish that I would have known then what I know now.
There are many theories about the causes of colic. Many believe that it is breastfeeding that causes it. "Either you are eating something that is not suited to her little tummy or you must be feeding her too much.." they will tell you. Well, maybe. Others believe that bottle fed babies are allergic to the formula. "Switch his formula and he will be just fine..." they will tell you. Well, yes that could be it too. Some will say it is gas or an immature nervous system. Maybe. And the list goes on and on.
However, I believe that the answer to solving colic problems is simple....

Keeping Your Laptop Like New ? ALWAYS
Keeping Your Laptop Like New ? ALWAYS
by: Ismael D. Tabije
Laptops are expensive. Therefore you need to take real good care of it. And laptop maintenance is not a one time thing. It should be a regular exercise. To prevent your notebook's LCD from becoming smudged or dirty you should clean it regularly. We recommend spraying a diluted window cleaner onto a soft, non-abrasive cloth and then lightly wiping the screen with it. It might be simpler to just spray the detergent directly on the screen but it?s not recommended as the fluid can trickle down into the bezel at the screen's bottom which could in turn damage the computer's circuitry.
When it comes to getting rid of dust, dirt and food crumbs off the keyboard, a vacuum cleaner's brush attachment is ideal. There are handheld vacuum cleaners, specifically intended for PCs that can remove the dust and food from in between the gaps on the keyboard. But if you?re traveling, a vacuum cleaner would...

Drop On Demand Printers
by: Bill Smith
Most HP and Epson printers are drop on demand printers. They use electrical pulses to fulfill requests for ink. The ink is expelled out of the print head by a bubble which forms as a reaction to being heated. Once the ink is propelled out of the cartridge, the bubble cools, contracts, and forms a vacuum of sorts, which pulls more ink into the nozzle.
HP DeskJets and BubbleJets are popular examples of printers that use this technology.
Epson printers work on the same principal with the exception of a minor twist ? they use a transducer to produce the droplets in what is referred to as piezoelectric DOD.
So what about the ink ? does it matter what kind you buy as a replacement?
The answer is yes, it does matter.
The ingredients that go into ink play a huge role in the quality of your printouts. All ink manufactures work to strike the delicate balance between print quality, time it...
